About the Celebrity Male Role Model Pixel Reveal Campaign

The Pixel Project’s Celebrity Male Role Model Pixel Reveal campaign will turbo-charge global awareness about Violence Against Women using social media while raising US$1 million for the cause by getting a global audience to collectively unveil a world-exclusive million-pixel mystery collage of Celebrity Male Role Models at US$1 per pixel.

Picture, if you will, a virtual jigsaw puzzle assembled by people from San Francisco to Sydney!

As each celebrity male role model is revealed, an exclusive Public Service Announcement from him about Violence Against Women will be launched online at The Pixel Project website and on YouTube.

The philosophy behind choosing positive male role models from different walks of life is to emphasise that men have a major role to play in breaking the cycle of violence against women.

This year’s mystery collage of portraits features four world-famous male celebrities with strong family connections and no history of violence who are role models for men in relationships with women and children. This distinguished mystery Celebrity Male Role Model line-up includes a prominent Nobel Prize Winner, a Pulitzer Prize winner and a superstar Environmentalist.

Award-winning international photographer Jillian Edelstein is the project’s principal portrait photographer. Jillian’s work includes the iconic Nelson Mandela portrait for the cover of the New York Times magazine.

The beneficiaries of the first Pixel Reveal campaign are various anti-Violence Against Women nonprofits including the U.S.A.’s National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
