Jacqueline Truong – California, USA

Though it is her greatest passion today, photography was not Jacqueline’s first love. At a young age, she dreamt of becoming a poet. Nothing seemed to grab her attention until she discovered her parent’s Nikon on a closet shelf in their bedroom. With a few clicks, the words trapped in her mind became images expressed on film. Jacqueline had her first opportunity to showcase her talents in a fine art gallery viewing in 1992 after placing second in an art exhibition in San Diego, California as a young teenager. After high school, she continued her education under the tutelage of Harris Fogel at the University of Redlands earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts: Photography, Sculpture, Printmaking, and Mixed Media. She has been a guest student with SACI, Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy and The Julia Dean Photo Workshops in Venice, California. Jacqueline has studied under Bob Bjorkquist, Phil Borges (Blue Earth Alliance), Julia Dean, Allen Frame (School of Visual Arts, Pratt Institute, International Center of Photography), Harris Fogel (Art Director of University of the Arts), the late Jo Leggett (PhotoMetro Magazine), Aline Smithson (Lenscratch, Light Leaks Magazine, Critical Mass and Review LA), and Alan Weissman (Celebrity Photographer).

While finding her niche, she has worked in both the portrait studio field and the area of special events that involved such celebrities as Arnel Pineda (Journey), Kobe Bryant (Lakers), Rachelle Ann Go (Filipino Singer), Miss Asia USA and many more. She enjoys photographing different genres, but her talents are in photojournalism, figure studies, and fine arts. Jacqueline’s work has been recognized by the International Photography Awards, Texas Photographic Society, photographer Keith Carter, museums curators Charlotte Cotton (LACMA) and Lisa Sutcliffe (SFMoMA), as well as being featured on the Hey, Hot Shot! Blog by Jen Bekman. Her work has been displayed all over the United States and Europe.
